A downloadable game

Xalli is a roguelike deckbuilding game set in Aztec mythology, drawn in the style of the ancient codices.

Every run starts with nothing and ends against a god. Draw a hand, spend energy, read what the enemy has telegraphed for next turn, and decide whether to block it or race it. If you have played Slay the Spire or Monster Train, the loop will feel immediate.

What is different is everything built around it.

FIVE LINEAGES

Bind your deck to Jaguar, Eagle, Cipactli, Frog or Mictlan. Each opens a different card pool and a different way to win a run. The choice is early and it commits you.

THE FIVE SUNS

The Mexica cosmology is the run structure, not set dressing. Each act ends against a god of that pantheon.

COOK BETWEEN FIGHTS

Food you prepare at camp carries into the next battle. Camp decisions matter as much as card picks.

FIGHT GROUPS, NOT DUMMIES

Many encounters put several enemies on the board at once, so targeting and area effects are real decisions rather than an afterthought.

DRAWN LIKE A CODEX

Every card, enemy and event has its own artwork. Flat colour, heavy outline, figures in profile, a glyph vocabulary that carries meaning — the visual grammar of Mexica manuscripts, not airbrushed fantasy.

BUILT PHONE-FIRST

Designed for one-handed portrait play and brought to PC after, rather than a desktop game squeezed into a phone.

English and Mexican Spanish. Every card, event and codex entry written for both.

Free pre-alpha, in active development. Feedback welcome.
